Environmental Policy

CEME is committed to protecting the environment, preventing pollution, and continually improving the way we manage our environmental responsibilities.

As a business and innovation campus supporting engineering, manufacturing, technology, events, and enterprise, we recognise that our activities can affect the environment and the wider community. We aim to manage these impacts responsibly through efficient operations, good environmental practice, and ongoing improvement.

CEME is also committed to supporting a more sustainable future through responsible resource use, carbon reduction, and the development of a clear pathway towards Net Zero. We will continue to identify opportunities to reduce emissions across our estate, improve energy efficiency, support low-carbon technologies, and work with our staff, tenants, contractors, visitors, and partners to encourage more sustainable choices.

We are committed to:

  • Complying with relevant environmental legislation and good practice requirements.
  • Preventing pollution to air, land, and water.
  • Reducing waste and supporting effective recycling and waste management.
  • Using energy, water, materials, and other resources responsibly.
  • Managing hazardous substances safely and responsibly.
  • Reducing nuisance and environmental impacts such as noise, dust, fumes, and emissions.
  • Improving energy efficiency and reducing carbon emissions across our operations.
  • Supporting renewable energy, low-carbon technologies, and sustainable infrastructure where practical.
  • Promoting environmental awareness among staff, tenants, contractors, visitors, event users, and partners.
  • Setting and reviewing environmental and sustainability objectives to support continual improvement.
  • Monitoring environmental performance through audits, reviews, and operational controls.

Everyone has a role to play in supporting good environmental management and CEME’s wider sustainability commitment. We expect staff, tenants, contractors, visitors, and partners to act responsibly and consider the environmental impact of their activities.

CEME will continue to review and improve its environmental arrangements as part of our sustainability commitment and Net Zero pathway, supporting a cleaner, more efficient, and more sustainable business environment.
